Wasted

The series grows naturally out of the research into waste and trace — moving from the street into the interior. Where Tomberoane captured waste in public space, Wasted follows it where it should be absent: corridors, hallways, disused industrial rooms, spaces that still hold the structure of a former use but not its presence. The works, made between 2014 and 2016 in variable dimensions, mark a period of intense research into perspective as a tool for constructing pictorial space — successive door frames, corridors receding toward a single vanishing point, light falling from one opening and organizing the entire space.

Memory remains the thread running through the series: not as nostalgia, but as a structure made visible in the object — a decaying wall, a pile left on the floor, a patch of color breaking the monotony of concrete. Waste is no longer the central object, but becomes a secondary trace within a space that has stopped being used, or was never finished. The series does not illustrate a specific story, but a state — that of a space left alone with its own history.

Visually, the series continues the academic study begun in Tomberoane — drawing, form, value, composition — but shifts its research focus toward perspective and spatial depth, keeping chiaroscuro as a constant principle.
